Indicator Phrasing

INDICATOR PHRASING: Number of projects conducted by Tearfund or partners in fragile states that have completed a conflict or fragility assessment

What is its purpose?

To assess the extent to which Tearfund and partners are conducting conflict or fragility assessments as part of their normal project design process as a means of assessing the level of conflict awareness and conflict sensitivity of our project work

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

This can be assessed through a desk review of project documentation.  The project team should be able to share reports from conflict or fragility analyses conducted as part of the project.  This can also be confirmed during interviews/discussion with project staff.

Important Comments

Insist on seeing evidence of the conflict assessment, normally a short report or write up that captures the insights gained and actions taken.  You should also check to see whether this was a one-off event or whether it has been regularly updated as part of the project management process.  Ideally you should also expect to see evidence of how the project design or processes have been amended in the light of insights from the analysis
