Indicator Phrasing

INDICATOR PHRASING: number of constructed / rehabilitated shelters incorporating hazard mitigation measures

What is its purpose?

The indicator measures the extent to which the supported shelter solutions incorporate specific measures designed to mitigate the impact of hazards experienced in the area of intervention, such as storms or earthquakes.

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

Determine the indicator’s value by using the following methodology:

1) Define what types of hazard mitigation measures were supported.

2) Use a review of secondary documents (e.g. project reports, photos), interviews with key informants (project staff, construction companies) and technical assessments / observations to assess the total number of solutions incorporating the supported types of hazard mitigation measures.

3) The indicator’s value equals to the number of constructed / rehabilitated shelters for which there is a sufficient evidence that they (thanks to the provided support) include relevant hazard mitigation measures.

Disaggregate by

Disaggregate the data according to the types of supported hazard mitigation measures.
