Indicator Phrasing

INDICATOR PHRASING: Number of households that were provided with cash / materials for shelter (re) construction

What is its purpose?

The indicator measures the number of households which received cash or material assistance to (re)construct their shelters from the project. It shows the scale of the provided shelter assistance.

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

Determine the indicator’s value by using the following methodology:

1) Review project documentation to identify the number of households which received cash or materials for (re)constructing their shelters. This can include, for example: proof of money transfers, distribution lists, confirmations by relevant authorities or various project reports.

2) Verify the data by reviewing the results of post-distribution monitoring (e.g. the % of beneficiaries who reported receiving the provided cash / materials). If required, adjust the number of households which received cash / material assistance. If the post-distribution data is not available, it is recommended that you interview members of a representative sample of households.

3) The indicator’s value equals to the number of households where it was confirmed that they received cash / materials for (re)constructing their shelters.
