What is its purpose?

This indicator is a way to measure the impact which improvements in a water supply has had on women, and in particular their economic status. There are multiple aspects to measure in this one indicator, so it is important to ensure survey questions are set up appropriately, and your survey sampling frame takes into account that this question is only asked of women survey respondents, and therefore your sampling frame needs to take this into account to ensure your sample size of women survey respondents will be representative.

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

Surveys to be undertaken of a representative number of women survey respondents - this may mean you have to undertake a higher number of surveys overall to ensure women representation is representative. Seek advice from DMEAL colleagues.
Numerator: total number of women survey respondents who report that the reduction in water collection time has
resulted in the opportunity to engage in productive labour
