Indicator Phrasing

INDICATOR PHRASING: Number of projects conducted by Tearfund or partners in fragile states that have completed a conflict or fragility sensitivity assessment

What is its purpose?

To identify the take-up and practice of conflict sensitivity at the project level across Tearfund so that we can be confident that our projects in fragile and conflict affected situations do not make exisiting coflict drivers worse. To check that our projects 'do no harm'.

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

A conflict analysis and conflict sensitivity assessment should be done for each project as part of the initial design and then be updated regularly throughout the life of the project.  The frequency of updating will vary depending on howe dynamic the situation is.  For highly volatile situations there should be a short weekly update however in more static situations this may be done on a quarterly basis.  To ensure that this has been done look for published copies of the initial analysis and for evidence of subsequent updates.  Also look to see if there is evidence of the project design or processes being amended as a result of the analysis.
